Abstract

This report presents the approach to, and findings from, Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) funded research into how police safeguard and protect children involved in violence. The study was led by Professor Helen Beckett from the University of Lancashire and Professor Debra Allnock from the University of Bedfordshire, with the support of colleagues at these Universities, the Open University and the Vulnerability Knowledge and Practice Programme (VKPP). The project ran from September 2025 to March 2026.
