Safer Young Lives Research Centre (SYLRC)

The mission of SYLRC is to centre the voices, rights and lived experiences of children and young people affected by sexual violence, exploitation, intersecting harms and systemic vulnerability, generating rigorous, participatory evidence that strengthens how services and systems recognise, respond to and protect young people.

  • Participation rights, lived‑experience‑led research, and youth advisory structures
  • System reform and multi‑agency safeguarding responses
  • Research and evaluation of innovative and child‑centred service models (e.g., Barnahus, child‑centred policing)
