Abstract

Alternative energy systems form the basis for reliability, affordability, and sustainability in accessing rural and urban communities within a developing and well-developed country with minimized emission of gases from the human environment that is experiencing disconnection and connection towards the utility grid system. This paper presents an energy assessment and econometric analysis of a hybrid energy-power reserve network analyzed for both grid and off-grid modes in Ko Kut Island, Thailand. The hybrid energy power sources and the hybrid energy storage system were designed to stabilize the energy flow between the power generators and energy demand from the island, improve clean energy production, avert external interrupting disturbance, produce effective energy cost, and assess the energy measures. In addition, an optimized multi-control strategy was designed with the application of HOMER Pro microgrid analysis tool software to supervise and control the energy management, economize the energy flow and switch to a convenient energy cost service between the utility grid network, integrated renewable energy systems, and the hybrid energy storage systems in Ko Kut Island.
