Description
The project focuses on screen representations of university students and how they produce, frame, inform and contribute to complex and at times competing understandings about what it might mean to be a university student both now and in the past.
Our research critically examines how university students and higher education institutions are represented in British media. We have largely drawn upon British documentary television, television dramas and satirical comedies to shape and inform our research. Our work can be positioned at the intersection of education, media studies and cultural analysis, offering critical perspectives on the socio-political narratives surrounding student life and the role of higher education institutions.
