Intra-familial child sexual abuse: Risk factors, indicators and protective factors: Practice Tool

This practice tool was developed to support practitioners in using research evidence to inform assessment, analysis and decision-making in cases of intra-familial child sexual abuse (IFCSA). Drawing on the evidence base relating to risk factors, indicators and protective factors, the resource provides a structured framework to help practitioners consider concerns about sexual abuse within family contexts, particularly where there is limited direct evidence or disclosure. The tool is designed for use in children's social care and safeguarding practice to strengthen professional judgement, support assessment processes, and promote evidence-informed responses to children and families.
