Abstract
The law is another large and ever-increasing body of knowledge with which social workers must be familiar and confident. Suzy Braye and Michael Preston-Shoot are UK social work academics who have written about the law and social work for many years. This extract teases out differing approaches to the law, using an entertaining metaphor of maps, roads and paths to provide an informative analysis of the relationship between the law and social work practice.
