Abstract

In this world of downsizing, restructuring and technological change, notions of traditional careers and ways of creating value have all been challenged. People are depending more upon their own initiative to realise success. Never, it seems, have more people been embarking upon the entrepreneurial journeys than now, particularly to use their creativity and innovation to introduce new products and services for a competitive edge in the market. The case study aims to explain the importance of creativity and innovation as well as the difficult steps involved in the entrepreneurial journey ranging from research and product development to establishing a successful firm. It also illuminates that how dedication, devotion, and determination help in making a successful entrepreneurial venture. It highlights the problems faced by Dr Nasir in turning his innovative concepts into reality by introducing his new and novel supraglottic device 'I-gel'. It further elucidates the need for continuous creativity and innovation for organisational growth and personal entrepreneurial achievement. European Case Clearing House, Cranfield, UK.
