Abstract

This fourth chapter presents the reader with a range of practical coaching techniques, whilst distinguishing the key similarities and differences to mentoring. Coaching is characterised as a professional skill requiring tact, sensitivity and the application of communicative actions to ensure the development of students and apprentices towards the successful completion of learning objectives using goal-centred approaches.
