Abstract

This paper presents work assessing the organisational acceptability of a distributed learning resources repository catalogue for Computer Based Assessment (CBA) resources as part of the University of Bedfordshire Educational Resource Network (UBERN). We employ semi-structured interviews with institutional members having different management functions and responsibilities for CBA strategy and implementation. These are triangulated with issues regarding quality of use, pedagogical effectiveness and acceptability for endusers from previous work on the East of England Resource Network (EERN) project funded by JISC. This highlights a range of significant issues that need to be addressed both inside and outside an organisation implementing a repository or a catalogue for distributed repositories, with particular reference to CBAs.
