Description

Funded by Trinity College London, the project redesigned a suite of the ISE tests to reflect the integrated nature of academic English skills based on research on the nature of integrated skills (Chan, 2013, 2018) . The Reading & Writing was fully re-developed and validated across four proficiency levels.

Key Findings

As a result of the validation research, the new ISE launched in 2015 was one of the only two UKVI SELT tests approved at that time. The test was awarded the Association of Language Testers in Europe Q-mark, having met all 17 of their stringent quality standards.
