Dr Pavlos Kasdovasilis is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology and Programme Director for the MSc Health Psychology programme at the University of Bedfordshire.
He is an HCPC-registered Health Psychologist, a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and a registered supervisor on the BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors. He holds a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Studies and the BPS Qualification in Health Psychology (Stage 2).
In his academic role, Pavlos provides strategic and operational leadership for the MSc Health Psychology programme, leading curriculum development, academic coordination and quality assurance.
His teaching is informed by contemporary psychological research, professional practice and the evolving needs of health and care services. He is committed to creating an inclusive, compassionate and intellectually challenging learning environment in which students are supported to develop as reflective, ethical and evidence-based practitioners. He also supervises research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Alongside his academic work, Pavlos has extensive clinical, consultancy and leadership experience across NHS, independent healthcare, residential care and supported-living services. His professional interests include health behaviour change, psychological resilience, complex needs, autism, eating disorders, oncology, staff wellbeing, clinical governance and service improvement.
Pavlos also serves as an appointed HCPC Partner and Registration Assessor for Practitioner Psychologists in Health Psychology. In this role, he assesses international registration applications against the HCPC Standards of Proficiency and makes evidence-based recommendations regarding eligibility for registration. This appointment reflects his expertise in professional standards, practitioner competence and public protection.
