I am the course leader for the BA (Hons) Photography course at the University of Bedfordshire.
After completing a BA and a MA in modern and comparative literature at the University of Provence (France), I went on to do a PhD at Goldsmiths, University of London. My research focused on the photobook as an art form.
Between 2004 and 2008, I worked for Magnum Photos and Jim Goldberg on projects such as Open See (2009), Access to Life (2009) and Documenting Disposable People (2008). My own photographic work consists of long-term self-initiated projects which reflect on the process of writing and imprinting from social, psychological and environmental points of view. Between 2008 and 2010, I took part in Reflexion Masterclass, an organisation and program founded in 2002 by the photographer Giorgia Fiorio. A selection of my work has been exhibited and published in England, Italy and France. My writings and research interests focus on the history and theory of photography and its relationships with literature, cinema and the fine arts, in particular in the context of photobooks.
