Research Interests
My interdisciplinary and applied research focuses on generating evidence to reduce health inequalities by examining the social determinants of health and their influence on variations in health outcomes, access to care, and experiences of health and social care services. I am particularly interested in addressing inequities affecting people living with chronic conditions, disabilities, stroke and dementia, as well as the communities and populations that support them.
Through co-production approaches, my research seeks to inform policy and strengthen the design and delivery of inclusive, equitable, and responsive health and social care services at local, national, and international levels. A central aim of my work is to reduce disparities in care and outcomes among underserved and disadvantaged populations.
My research employs a range of methodologies, including qualitative research, secondary data analysis, and systematic reviews. I work closely with diverse communities, with a particular focus on people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnic minority groups, populations in low- and middle-income countries, and other underserved or hard-to-reach groups. By amplifying their perspectives and experiences, my research contributes to evidence-based solutions that promote health equity and social justice.
