Thinking as a kind of writing, writing as a kind of philosophy; or, On lightbulb moments

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

In this chapter, I consider the significance of writing to higher education generally. I offer a modest defence of discipline, while calling for a more flexible understanding of academic writing, one that has little concern for academic standards and conventions, so-called (there are, I argue, very few of these, and they are, in the main, poorly defined).
