Abstract

Rapid development of Internet-based technology has profoundly changed the operation and management activities in supply chains. This study discusses the adoption of Internet-based technology among vegetable enterprises along the supply chain and analyses the factors affecting the utilization of the technology along Chinese vegetable supply chain. The survey result shows that the technology has not widely used in vegetable enterprises, and the utilization level varies between different companies along the chain. Lack of funds, security and limited education are the main factors prohibiting the use of Internet. Managers also have no plan to adopt or extent the utilization level of Internet technology in the near future.
