In and out of care: the experiences of children, parents and social workers

Research output: Book/ReportBookpeer-review

Abstract

A unique insight into the workings of the child care system, based on the frank testimony of children, parents and workers in the field. The study by Mike Fisher, Peter Marsh and David Phillips with Eric Sainsbury is based on 350 actual cases, supported by 331 detailed interviews. It analyses the careers of children in care and reports in detail the participants’ views of family life, of entry to care, of care itself, and of leaving care.
