Abstract
Article 27 of the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT) provides for the adequate mechanism for the resolution of disputes between the Contracting Parties concerning the application and the interpretation of the ECT. Such disputes shall be submitted first to amicable resolution, through diplomatic channels, and if this proves unsuccessful, to ad hoc arbitration, as described by Article 27.
