Abstract

This Report summarises a small independent research project [funded by The College] focused on evaluating the Chartered College’s Pilot Chartered Teacher Programme, which was “a 14-month teacher certification programme, aligned to the Chartered College's aims to raise the status of the profession and support teachers to acquire the expertise necessary to maintain excellence in teaching and secure the best outcomes for children and young people” (Chartered College of Teaching, Online). The timing of the research allowed for a review of the experiences of teachers on the course, and to begin to evaluate the broader perspectives held on the role that the Chartered College can play.
