Project Details
Description
The study aims to support the development, implementation and diffusion of meaningful innovation for young people looked after (YPLA) as they negotiate the transition from adulthood.
Objectives:
Map sources, types and extent of innovation nationally in the care of YPLA as they negotiate the transition from care to adulthood;
Identify barriers and facilitators to the development and implementation of innovation for YPLA
Identify mechanisms for sustaining and diffusing evidence based ('meaningful') innovation for YPLA as they transition to adulthood
Measure outcomes of innovation
Understand what kind of adaptation occurs as it diffuses and what affect this adaptation has on outcomes

Key findings
The research identified the following ingredients which support innovation:
Cultivation of a receptive context
Distribution of Leadership
Co-production with service users
Developing multi-level outcome measures against which to monitor progress
Continual learning to adapt the innovation as it is implemented
