Personal profile

Biography

I am a former Science and Drama teacher with 15 years’ experience of teaching both subjects across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Applied Science. As a Scientist, my specialism is Biology (ecology), and within Drama, I specialise in physicality, movement, and physical theatre. The combination of these two subjects has given me a unique viewpoint and skill set within teaching.

Throughout my teaching career, I have worked in a Northamptonshire-based school, having experienced various roles such as subject leads, head of department, and head of year. I was also an in-school mentor for many years before taking on my current role at the University of Bedfordshire.

I am currently teaching and the lead mentor for the PGCE secondary education science course. In this role, I am very lucky to be able to share my knowledge, passion, enthusiasm, and unique experiences within education while also being able to keep up to date with new research.
