Biography
Dr Ourania Dimitraki is a Senior Lecturer in Economics and Finance with over 15 years of teaching experience at universities in the UK and Greece. She brings extensive expertise in applied economics, particularly in defence and peace economics, and excels in engaging students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
Dr Dimitraki began her career as a governmental official in Greece before transitioning to academia. She earned an MRes in Politics (2007) and a PhD in Economics (2012) from Brunel University, UK, following her undergraduate degree in Economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
She is recognized for her dedication, adaptability, and collaborative approach to teaching and research, combining a proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven mindset with a commitment to high academic standards. Her primary research focus is in applied economics, with a specialization in defence and peace economics.
Dr Dimitraki’s meticulous approach has enabled her to successfully manage complex research projects, delivering impactful findings through advanced data analysis and producing high-quality, concise publications.
Beyond her academic contributions, Dr Dimitraki is actively pursuing opportunities to expand her involvement in international peace research programs, reflecting her commitment to fostering global collaboration and promoting understanding in the field of economics and peace studies.
