Biography

Mitul has worked at the University of Bedfordshire since 2004. His research interest is focussed around social media technologies and how we communicate with one another using these mediating technologies. Particularly, he is interested in the affective impact and complex communication capability in using mediating technologies.

As of November 2012 Mitul gained his PhD which was focussed upon complex communications via online media. He accomplished this in a part-time capacity while working full-time in a variety of roles.

Previously he has worked as a lead on the JISC funded Building Capacities programme at the University of Bedfordshire. The project investigated how research staff at the University of Bedfordshire were supported as well as the processes involved in being a post-graduate research student. Mitul has also been involved in other JISC funded umbrella projects assisting other Universities with their research. In 2007 Mitul worked on a £1 million Arts Council project developing digital technology use within the Arts sector.

Mitul has also been known to spend time with Arduino, sensors and various electronics.
